
LONDON - Facebook has launched a site of internal changes designed to help people stay safe and report the threats while online.
Facebook Safety Center, has a new security tool for parents, teachers, youth and law enforcement. This is the first major step of the social networking site and global security advisory council that was four months.
The company was launched Safety Center a day after meeting officials of child protection in England, which has pushed the company to install the "panic" on the site. This was considered urgent after the abduction and murder by a teenage boy whom he met on Facebook.
Child Online Protection Centre and Exploitation (CEOP), Facebook wants to install the safety path on the user profile pages in the UK that would lead them to security sites CEOP, which has been designed to help deal with children from online threats.
"We believe that without access prevention provided by the visible directly to CEOP button on every page of the children, it will not be helpless. Parents can not be assured and the offender will not (be) blocked," said the Security Center on its website.
Facebook Council consists of Internet security groups, like Common Sense Media, ConnectSafely, WiredSafety, Childnet International and The Family Online Safety Institute. Some new features of the safety center to include more content to stay safe, such as dealing with violence online, interactive portals and simple design.
The presence of sexual predators are a problem for social networking sites and their users. Facebook, which is based in Palo Alto, California, has helped to identify and have a list of accounts that cyber criminals. In the year 2008 said that Facebook has agreed to help the 49 lawyers to protect children against Internet predators.
